About Catherine Susky

I have loved art as far back as I can remember, undoubtedly due to my upbringing in Manhattan. The Metropolitan Museum of Art my purlieu, I spent my time outside the schoolyard entranced by the works of artists like John Singer Sargent, William Merritt Chase, and JoaquĆn Sorolla.

Turn of the century representational art resonated most strongly with me and inspired me to try my skills at landscapes, florals, still-life and portraiture. Currently, I am concentrating on still life painting, striving to capture the beauty and luminous glow that bathes the every day objects I choose as subjects.

I work in oil, pastel, acrylic, and charcoal and teach both children and adults in my Lawrenceville studio. I am currently a member of the Suwannee Arts Center, the Quinlan Visual Art Center, and the Lilburn Arts Alliance.
